`VILIN GRAD` CINEMA HALL NAMED `EMPEROR CONSTANTINE `

 Cinema `Vilin Grad` had on February 28 premiere of `Along the Roadside` . Zoran Lisinac, director, Vladimir Lisinac, producer and Lazar Ristovski, actor in leading role all greeted the public in Nis. Michael Madsen, famous Hollywood star, has an appearance in this movie. Madsen also opened this year FEST. On this occasion, Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, in the year of 1700 Anniversary of Milan Edict, named the cinema hall `Emperor Constantine`. According to actor Lazar Ristovski, it was the wish of all of us who put efforts in renovation and adaptation of this cinema in Nis. This road movie is about two young people from different parts of the world, their vastly different clashing cultures and their journey of self-discovery during the drive to the largest music festival in California.

BOBAN DZUNIC AT THE `EXCHANGE 3` PROGRAMME FINAL CONFERENCE

 In the organization of delegation of EU in the Republic of Serbia and Standing Conference of towns and municipalities in Hayat Hotel in Belgrade, the final conference of Programme Exchange 3 was organized. At the Conference, the awarded projects of local self governments were presented, supported in the area strategic planning, municipal financing and municipal support packages. Djordje Stanicic, general secretary of Standing conference of towns and municipalities, Vincent Degert, Head of Delegation of EU in the Republic of Serbia and Verica Kalanovic, Minister of regional development and local self government addressed to the present. Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, City of Nis, was also present at the Final conference of Exchange Programme 3 and was awarded with the Letter of acknowledgement.

INTERVIEW WITH BOBAN DZUNIC PRESIDENT OF PALILULA MUNICIPALITY – NIS PUBLISHED IN NIN MAGAZINE

 One of the five City municipalities of Nis – Palilula is very much specific in many ways, it consists of urban part, but also 15 rural settlements. It got its name after one urban part in southern Nis around Palilula railway crossroad and behind it. With over 80, 000 citizens it belongs to big municipalities, but according to people standard the poorest municipalities. With clear vision of development and good management, this Municipality very fast began to differ from the circle of not developed municipalities in Serbia. Although the biggest economical subjects from the territory of this Municipality stopped with its work, leaving many dozens of workers jobless, new ways of development in this surrounding with the improvement of small and medium enterprises, but over the projects and financial help with additional resources of EU donors are opening, says Palilula president Boban Dzunic, lawyer.

`LIVING GREEN – DO NOT THROW WASTE INTO RIVERS`

 The riverbed of Gabrovacka river, in the settlement Crvena Zvezda, Palilula Municipality, for months and months was one true ruined location and then, after the initiative of Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, volunteers – employees in the Municipality and representatives of civil society organizations, only for one day, cleaned the devastated location around the river around the bridge near PMF – Faculty of Natural Science and showed the fellow citizens how it is possible to change everything if there is a true will. Under the motto LIVING GREEN – DO NOT THROW WASTE INTO RIVERS 40 volunteers used beautiful weather and free day and for a few hours totally cleaned this location. The appeal of the citizens from Crvena Zvezda settlement came first and soon was followed with this action. They complained that the riverbed in their nearness is actually full of house waste, bottles and other plastic objects, car wires.

IS THE RIVERBED OF GABROVACKA RIVER ACTUALLY A LOCATION FOR WASTE LANDFILLS?

 The residents of Crvena Zvezda settlement, who live by Gabrovacka river, pointed over media the problem of waste landfills in this riverbed. On this occasion, according to the order of Palilula Municipal president Boban Dzunic, reacted Communal inspection of Palilula Municipality that is authorized to act on public surfaces of Municipal territory and determined that on the surface out of the waterflow and riverbed of Gabrovacka River does not exist wild landfill. However, according to the report of Municipal inspector, in the riverbed, large waste was seen from households, plastic bottles, bags, wires, construction material, for which is actually the Republic water inspection in charge of.

LIVING GREEN – NEW PALILULA PROJECT

 One of the main four developmental priorities, defined by the Action Plan of Palilula Municipality 2012-2016, is strategic aim-protection of life environment. Project that will be realized in this organization of local self government of the City of Nis, during this year, within the Programme of cross border cooperation Bulgaria – Serbia, is project Living Green that with the support of EU IPA Fund is being realized with Bulgarian Municipality of Ihtiman.With pleasure I can say that Palilula Municipality in Nis successfully cooperates with municipalities in Bulgaria-emphasized at the press conference Boban Dzunic, Municipal president.With the realization of this new project - Living Green we will empower our capacities for life environment protection, we will contribute to raising consciousness of our citizens.

 Palilula Municipality and Traders Association of Nis-General association of self-employed traders and craftsmen in Nis, started with the realization of the project of professional education of the unemployed from the following target groups: socially disadvantaged, disabled, single mothers, refugees and displaced persons. About the significance of this project for Palilula Municipality at the press conference spoke Boban Dzunic, president of the Municipality and Blagoje Stanisavljevic, president of Traders Association, Nis.
Palilula Municipality and Traders Association actively work on creating conditions for self employing and employment of the people, said Municipal president. We are the first in the city of Nis who created this programme and strategy of development of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship.

HUMANITY AT FIRST PLACE

 Institute for blood transfusion in Nis, with the support of Palilula Municipality, within the Winter campaign of voluntary blood donations `Your five minutes-someones whole life` organized in NKC this voluntary action. According to tradition the appeal was sent to good-willing blood donors to come and be part of this humanitarian action. The employed in the Administration, members of the authorities of Palilula Municipality and representatives of other organizations and institutions from Municipal territory also joined this activity in Palilula. According to Boban Dzunic words, president of Palilula Municipality, this organization of local self government of the City of Nis has extraordinary cooperation with the Institution for blood transfusion.Not only me, but great number of employees in Palilula Municipality came and donate blood.

URBAN CULTURE AND WILD LANDFILLS

 From 30 wild landfills, registered last year in the parts of Palilula, Nis, with the help of citizens and organizations of civil societies and Municipal services of inspection affairs, 15 locations were adapted into green surfaces with settled mobiliar for recreation activities for the children and young people. Part of the settlement of Crvena Zvezda in Palilula, Dusana Popovica street, last week was under the spotlight of public. Landfill that no one succeeded so far to remove from the street, was also the issue for many disputes over media. Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, also announced over the matter and introduced the public with the fact that this organization of local self government of the City of Nis works according to the Action plan of the Municipality that represents operative tool for the implementation of the Strategy of development of Palilula Municipality and City of Nis.
